Lydia Rosier’s paintings depict the delicate coloring of small birds and the savage strength of a mountain lion. Her deft brush strokes and attention to detail make her wild life seemingly fly off the canvas. Lydia Rosier's Profile

Lydia Rosier was born in Switzerland and educated in the Netherlands. In the United States she studied in New York City at the Art Students League and The School of Visual Arts. One of her paintings was purchased by the Arts Students League, which made her a permanent member of that organization. She later worked in New York as Art Director for a leading book publisher and has painted portraits and landscapes for both institutions and private individuals. She spent many years illustrating both adult and children’s books. She and her husband, Don Hedin, met in New York City at the Society of Illustrators, where they were both members. Since living in Sedona, she shares a studio with her husband, and devotes her time to painting portraits and wildlife. She has won several top honors and awards for her work, including Best of Show at the Sedona Arts Center.
