Carson Gladson's Profile

Carson Gladson went to college with every intention of becoming a classical music composer. He arrived at Chapman University in Orange, California, several days before the onset of classes, wandered into the art department and never left. Throughout his over 40 year career he has explored the artistic arenas of abstraction, enjoyed extraordinary success with more representational pastel depictions of landscapes, countrysides, mountains, gardens and coastal scenes. Over the past several years Carson has worked primarily in mixed media (acrylic washes and pastel). Despite the use of these fundamentally traditional media Gladson has managed to create works of unique appearance, abstracted landscapes with super representational and surreal components interspersed. Carson Gladson believes his latest work is unique -- "no one else is making art like this!" He may be right.
