K.D. Fullerton’s wall hangings delight El Prado’s visitors young and old. The mixed media artwork incorporates clay sculptures that she fires in a kiln, mixed with every day kitchen utensils or vivid designs of native ceremonial masks. People, animals and masks are imaginatively depicted in this very earthy artwork.

Art Work By K.D. Fullerton
K.D. has been nurtured her whole life by the rocks, mountains and skies of the Southwest. "I am part of it," she says, "and I have a similar feeling of belonging when I work with the clay." To keep her work alive, Fullerton constantly tries new ideas inspired by her experiences. And she makes sure to be rich in those experiences, from skiing to mountain climbing on foot or horseback, to exploring ancient ruins and visiting pueblo dances K.D. never tires of experiencing life and applying it to her art.
