Sept. 26 – 27         “State of the Art”

Join El Prado for Art and all that Jazz at the 3rd annual Tlaquepaque State of the Art Event.  Free entertainment, jazz ensembles and artist demonstrations will fill the Village with magic.

El Prado’s featured artists will be the multi-talented Mary Sabrina Kuder and Michael Medow, representing the most remarkable talent available today. Join us for evening receptions both Friday and Saturday evenings 5-8 p.m.

On Saturday morning Mike Medow will entertain guests with his private collection of marionettes. You will want to be sure to be present for the very whimsical side of this accomplished wood carver.

Saturday afternoon Mary Sobrina Kuder will talk to guests about the journey of her art from classic disciplines, diverse training and life experiences. Her current body of work incorporates drawing, print making, sumi, oils and encaustic in an abstract style that is all her own. Sophisticated, organic, sensitive; join this discussion of the artistic expression.

You will be carried away by the art of these inspiring and diverse artists.

We will also have an awesome emerging artist this weekend from Sedona, 14 year old Tanaya Cienceros. This young lady is definately 'one to watch', and you can be one of her first collectors.

October 3rd-4th – FREDRICK STEPHENS

Fredrick Stephens Original Oil "Ms.Hyde"

Named by Southwest Art magazine as one of the young artist to watch, Fredrick’s work has become an El Prado staple. Fredrick fuses land and light in unique landscape paintings that bridge traditional tonal elegance with contemporary flare. His creations reveal layers of depth through the use of varying earth tones, and he often combines splashes of vivid color to captivate the observer. There is always a waiting list for new works from this hot young artist and we’re excited to see what’s new!

Join us for the artist reception during the SGA 1st Friday Walk, October 3rd 5-8pm. Meet this young talent and preview his new works. Contact the gallery to inquire about opportunities to purchase before the opening reception.

Fredrick will also be in the gallery painting on Saturday morning October 4th. Watch him create a new Sedona scene.

October 19-26th – SCOTT PRIOR

Scott is once again participating in this year’s Plein Air Festival, so we will be fortunate enough to have him dropping in to the gallery from time to time. His paintings of the local area are always a big hit. Call the gallery to arrange to be the first to see some of his new works and find out when you might get your own personal sighting of this very talented and gregarious young artist.

November 7-9th – RED ROCK CANVAS

The first annual Sedona Gallery Association (SGA) event will be a fabulous combination of visual art presentations, studio tours and an art auction gala with a portion of the proceeds supporting a camp for critically ill children. This year’s honoree is the famous sculptor John Waddell. While every SGA gallery will present their own ‘canvas’ of visual art, El Prado will host Jane Seymour as our special guest for the weekend. Click here for details of this exciting El Prado show.

November 1st – GIFT GIVING – SMALL ART for BIG HEARTS

Art of Gold Events
"ART OF GOLD" events offer a $1,000 gift certificate to SGA gallery customers.

For the Sedona Gallery Association it is an opportunity to give back to collectors who play such an important role in supporting its member galleries.

Four times each year, a 1st Friday Evening in the Galleries event will be given a specific theme for each member to interpret in a way that best represents their gallery. For that entire week, every customer who makes a purchase of $500 or more in any individual member gallery will be given a ticket for a drawing that will make them eligible to receive a $1000 gift certificate, redeemable at any single SGA gallery within thirty days.

The “Art of Gold” events are facilitated by the SGA and the selection of the winning tickets are made the Monday following each event by the Sedona Chamber of Commerce.
