March 1 – 8                           “The Awe of our History” show

Sedona became known to worldwide film audiences through the early Westerns. El Prado celebrates Sedona’s heritage with art work created by some of the most impressive western artist available today.

From paintings of frontier days and native American life, to the three dimensional works of western history, the inspiration abounds weaving a story that lingers. Navajo sculptor Ed Natiya will be present to talk about the history that inspired each of his pieces, capturing an important part of the rich culture of the southwest. Watch Natyia work on his latest creation and be the first to see the finished sculpture of his much anticipated and Sedona inspired "Call of the Canyon".

The artist reception is part of our monthly SGA First Friday, March 7 from 5 – 8 p.m.

April 4 – 18                            “Doggone Good Times”

Sculptor Marty Goldstein doesn’t mind a cold nose or a wagging tail.  In fact, he claims his studio has gone to the dogs…And so has El Prado Gallery during the “Doggone Good Times” show from April 4 through 18.

Goldstein’s “Harvey Dogs” are whimsical sculptures of ‘man’s best friend’ that delight viewers and elicit belly laughs from gallery guests.  Come meet the man who has a growing list of collectors that you will want to join.

Join El Prado by the Creek for an opening reception to celebrate sculptor Marty Goldstein and the “Harvey Dogs” on April 4 from 5 – 8 p.m.  Goldstein will also be appearing in the gallery Saturday, April 5th from 11 – 4 p.m.

May 2 – 4                               2nd Annual “Creekside Serenade”

Enjoy a weekend of ranch-inspired artistry at the second annual Creekside Serenade.  Master sculptor Robin Laws captures the innocence, humor and gentleness of her ranch animals.  From frolicking hogs in a tub of water to the camaraderie of a horse and dog, Laws captures emotion in bronze. Fredrick Stephens, featured as one of Southwest Art’s up-and-coming young artists, uses nature as the starting point for his paintings. Although pastoral and calming, Stephens’ work has an edginess that gives his landscapes a unique and contemporary look.

El Prado hosts receptions and demonstrations throughout the weekend for these two captivating artists.

Art of Gold Events
"ART OF GOLD" events offer a $1000 gift certificate to SGA gallery customers.

For the Sedona Gallery Association it is an opportunity to give back to collectors who play such an important role in supporting its member galleries.

Four times each year, a 1st Friday Evening in the Galleries event will be given a specific theme for each member to interpret in a way that best represents their gallery. For that entire week, every customer who makes a purchase of $500 or more in any individual member gallery will be given a ticket for a drawing that will make them eligible to receive a $1000 gift certificate, redeemable at any single SGA gallery within thirty days.

The “Art of Gold” events are facilitated by the SGA and the selection of the winning tickets are made the Monday following each event by the Sedona Chamber of Commerce.
